I AM a Ready Woman: A Morning Meditation Series From Manifesther DailySample
The word “ready” means fully prepared.
I believe in being HOT – honest, open, and transparent; so, as some of you know from my previous YouVersion plans, I am a recovered perfectionist. Prior to undergoing my own healing and recovering from perfectionism, I rejected an entire surplus of wedding photos because one curl was caught in my wedding veil. I think back on that now, with grace for the younger version of myself who could only see imperfection.
Despite being a recovered perfectionist, I still love being fully prepared. I travel with a backpack that contains a full pharmacy in the front pocket. I have a first aid kit in my car. I carry chargers of all types; I have sub-committees in our community to handle all of our needs; and I organize my work with a project management platform.
No matter how fully prepared we are in our daily lives, God is still calling us to become fully prepared in our spiritual lives by becoming spiritually surrendered and loving Him fully. God desires that you and I cultivate our preparedness according to these traits—it’s what He deems important. Only then can we be ready women.
Our definition of ready is typically insufficient because ready doesn’t look ready when you view it through God’s lens.
- Moses stuttered and didn’t believe he could stand before a king and speak on the deliverance of God’s people—but God called him ready.
- Ruth lost almost everything and was working in a field when Boaz discovered her—God called her ready.
- Gideon’s army was reduced by God to only 300 men, in preparation to face 10,000 men in a battle—God called them ready.
- A young boy brought five fish and two loaves of bread to Jesus to feed 5,000—Jesus prayed, broke the food into pieces, and proclaimed dinner as ready!
No matter what God is calling you to do, know this: He wouldn’t be calling you if you weren’t ready. You’ve faced challenges, and you’re still here, wiser and stronger than you used to be. You may not think you’re ready, and maybe you’ve prepared as much as you can and still don’t feel ready. Just remember, in each of the examples above, each person succeeded because God was with them and called them ready—just like He is with you right now.
Today’s Affirmation
You are being filled with confidence in Christ right now, and it feels wonderful. Your reliance on God is increasing as you trust Him more. His gentle love soothes your heart with a knowing that He is with you. He is protecting you. He is keeping you, and He will prepare you. You will complete every good work God has for you in Jesus’s name.
