Romans 6:4. Dead to Sin. Alive In Christ.

Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in the newness of life. We celebrate this reality every Easter season!

Christ died 2000 years ago for our sins, so our sinful nature, at that point in time, was buried with Him. As baptism symbolizes, we are immersed, through faith in Christ, into His death and raised into new life with our Savior. We have died to the old sin that dominated life and are raised in His resurrection, to live in a new dimension, which is in Christ.

That’s the GOOD NEWS!

In Ezekiel 36:24-26, God promises to take Israel out of the nations and into their own land, where He will cleanse them and take their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. And so it is with us, when we die to our old sin nature and become new in Christ. Not that we do not sin anymore (just check yourself out), but that sin does not dominate us. Now, we walk in the newness of life with our risen Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ and as we do so, let us grow in the grace and knowledge of our faithful Savior.
