Resilient: Powerful Hope in a Dangerous WorldSample

In Daniel 3, we see the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who refused to bow down to an idol and worship the king, even when faced with the threat of death in a blazing furnace. But as they stood amid the flames, they were not alone. The Bible tells us they saw "someone else in the fire with them—someone like the Son of Man" (Daniel 3:25, NIV). This was none other than the angel of the Lord, who protected them and kept them safe from harm.

In the same way, when we are facing difficult times, we are never alone. God is always with us, and he promises to be our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). He is the One who walks with us through the fire, who shields us from harm, and who gives us the strength to endure.

And just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, when we trust in God and remain faithful to him, even amid our trials, we will come out of the fire unscathed and unharmed. The Lord will use our difficulties to refine and strengthen us, deepen our faith, and make us more like his Son, Jesus Christ.

So today, if you are facing a difficult season in your life, take heart and know that someone is in the fire with you. Trust in God, hold on to his promises and know he will never leave or forsake you. He is with you always, and his love and grace are sufficient for you, no matter what you may face.
