34. The Light of the World
Before I was born again, there was a lot of darkness in my life. I used to hate people and there was so much anger in me. I had a boxing bag and I often used it until my knuckles would bleed. When I decided to follow God, He took all of that away. It surprised me that I can feel love for people I don’t even know; that I might feel the need to pray for those who are not my friends. It is all because God showed me people in a different light. He showed me how He sees them. Through Him we are born again, and we can see the world in His light. It puts everything in a different perspective. This light, however, reveals more than just things around us. It shines on our lives and shows us what needs to be cleaned. And as soon as we are done cleaning, the light intensifies, which allows us to see what else should be changed so that we can grow closer to Him.
If we choose to follow Him, if we continue on the path that He prepared for us, we won’t walk in darkness.
