Planting and Tending Your Garden
SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 1:15-23.
What does Paul pray for the church in Ephesus and for Christians everywhere? Go back and read His prayer knowing that, as one of God's adopted "sons," Jesus prays for you each day (Hebrews 7:25). Imagine Jesus praying this prayer for you. Replace the word "you" with your name and quietly recite this passage to yourself. Believe this as true.
PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today's focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day. Ephesians 1:18-19 "Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe."
WATER THE SEED
Take Paul's prayer and pray it for your family members and for a close friend. Pray it for a friend you see seeking after the Lord with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength. Now pray it for yourself. Just as Paul prayed for the Ephesians and the church, remember that Jesus prays each day, each hour, and each moment for you. Ask Him to help you see things through His eyes. Remember to "water this seed" throughout your day. Grow truth in your heart until you have a full garden of faith and righteousness!
BEAR THE FRUIT
Pray that I will know him fully.
CLOSE IN PRAYER
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

About this Plan
The Bible uses seasons to illustrate God's work in us. This 40-day devotional uses the metaphor of a garden for growing in Christ. You will be given seeds of truth (Scripture), instructions for planting (taking it to heart), and watering (application) that seed. The Lord will grow a beautiful garden of His character in your heart, overflowing with the fullness of the Lord.
