Women Who Struggle With Lust

DAY 3 OF 5

Luke 1:45 says, “Happy is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill the promises he made to her."

During our daily routines, from when we wake up, get ready, feed the dog, go to work, drive home, make dinner, shower, and get ready for the next day, we can start to feel mundane, tired, and worn out. A feeling begins to grow that God has forgotten us or that we are not important enough for Him to remember. As we feel forgotten, we can fantasize about another way of life. The fantasy may include a new spouse, a bigger house, and more money. We believe that if we just had those things, then we wouldn't feel so weary. However, the truth is, it's not that fantasy coming true that will help us; it's our trust in God.

Elizabeth said the above verse to Mary, who was pregnant with Jesus. She was over-the-moon excited for Mary and commended her for her trust in God. Mary may have been scared and confused, but she trusted that the Lord would do what He promised, and He did! Putting our trust in worldly accomplishments or milestones is harmful because this world has not promised us anything. God has promised to give you a purpose and to give your real life (not fantasy) beautiful meaning. Today let’s pray for trust in God.

Prayer: Dear God, we pray to put our trust in You, not our jobs, successes, or material things. We pray for a steady ground to stand on, and we pray against the feeling of complacency and know You are moving in ways we cannot see. We pray for newfound excitement in our daily lives, knowing You give us purpose! In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
