All humans, wealthy or poor, bear the image of God, their creator. Individuals and nations must take off the mask of religion and work to let the oppressed go free. Let us, the church, profess the practice and the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, and preach, in action and words, deliverance to those in slavery.

Lord, strengthen me to be determined to seek justice for oppressed people. Show me chains that need to be removed and yokes that must be broken, so that the oppressed can be released. Amen.
