Having favor with God

Esther was a young Jewish lady, who was selected by King Ahasuerus to replace Queen Vashti. Her appointment as queen came at a time when the Jewish people were exiled and were living in a foreign land. On the advice of her cousin Mordecai, she did not disclose her identity. As we read the book of Esther, we see how she played a pivotal role in reversing the judgment that was passed to annihilate the Jews.
First, Esther gained favor in the eyes of the head eunuch, who was in charge of the ladies in the palace. He gave her beauty treatments that prepared her for her appointment with the king. She later found favor with the king and all those who saw her. God favored her so that she could use that favor to bless others. favor was upon her to support the Jewish people at the time of their need and plead with the king on their behalf.
God bestows favor on our life too. The Bible says that His favor is for a life time (Psalm 30:5). The Lord also gives us favor with people. This favor is for us to accomplish God’s purpose in our lives and be a blessing to others. favor is not for us to think of ourselves as better or higher than others. The favor over our lives is not based on any good works that we have done, but it is based on God’s love and mercy over our lives.
Today, ponder upon the Lord’s favor over your life, and the favor He has given you with people. What is the purpose of His favor over you? What does the Lord want to accomplish through you?

Prayer
Father, I pray that I would not take Your favor lightly. Help me to accomplish Your plans and purposes. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
