Put on Love

What do you do when you have a grievance against somebody? Do you go about condemning that person or, do you possess the ability to forgive? One of the greatest, yet, the most difficult qualities for a person to acquire, is forgiveness. This glorious power to forgive, can be attained by understanding the forgiving nature of God through His immense love for us.
God has abundant love for His creation. He made a way to release us from the condemnation of sin, which entered the world through Adam. To redeem us, He sent His only Son to die for us on the cross. Jesus paid the ultimate price only because of His love for us. Through Christ’s sacrifice, all of us have been forgiven of our sins, and have received grace when His blood was shed for us. We too must live a life portraying the love of God. Only an understanding and portrayal of such love, in every circumstance in our life, can strengthen any bond in perfect unity.
All of us are united in Christ. We are all part of one body with Christ as the head. Hence, when we have grievances against others, we must, above all, put on the virtue of love and forgive everyone. As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, we need to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience (Colossians 3:12).

Prayer
Lord Jesus, let Your peace rule my heart and teach me to forgive each and every person I have been condemning. Help me to love everyone just as You have loved me. Amen.
