Get Yourself Renewed

I have realized it does not take much to entirely disorient us and change our state of mind from, ‘Wow, it’s a beautiful day’ to ‘This day couldn’t get any worse!’ We are constantly moving about, travelling, witnessing fights on the street, interacting with individuals who anger us and bosses who make our lives difficult. With all these experiences, our exuberance and positivity are likely to wither away, leaving us with nothing but irritation and emptiness.
The Bible suggests a wonderful way to deal with it - renewing our mind with God’s Word. If attaining the perfect state of mind was just a one-time thing, the Bible would not command us to ‘constantly renew’ our minds! We need to constantly stay in touch with God and keep updating Him about every little thing that bothers, upsets and concerns us. He is always ready to help us and straighten things out for us. He is able to change the way we feel about a certain situation and give us a totally new perspective on it.
You may probably be plagued with your sins of the past. God’s Word says, As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us (Psalm 103:12). If you’re worried about your future, remember God has plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV). If you’re in any trouble right now, God’s word declares, He is a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
With Him, we have a peace that surpasses all human understanding, making us peaceful about a condition that would have initially made us feel otherwise. Isn’t it amazing? It surely gets me excited.

Prayer
Dear Jesus, I’m grateful that I can come to You boldly and get myself renewed by Your Word. Help me always, to remember that the only One who can take away my emptiness and replace it with joy is You! Amen.
