God’s Mercies are Unending
In Luke 15:4-7, Jesus told the story about a shepherd who had a hundred sheep. The shepherd looked after each of his sheep. He made sure they had enough grass and fresh water and protected them from wild animals. One day, the shepherd found one of his sheep missing. He set out to find his lost sheep, leaving the other ninety nine in the sheepfold. He looked high and low, behind bushes and rocks, just to find the lost sheep. After some time, the shepherd heard faint bleating; he hastily darted towards the sound and there he found the sheep in a pit. The sheep looked scared and trembled in fear, but when the shepherd found him, he picked him up lovingly, and carried him home on his shoulders. He was so happy that he invited all his neighbors to celebrate, along with him, the joy of finding his lost sheep.
Often, we, like sheep, wander off. We make mistakes, stumble and experience temporary defeat. But our God never gives up on us. He is always looking out for us. When we think we are too far gone, He comes after us. He is our compassionate, unfailing help in times of trouble. All we need to do is call on him, like the bleating sheep, and He will dart toward us. Lamentations 3:22 (NIV) says, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.”
Today, you may not feel worthy to be called a child of God. But remember, He is your good shepherd and will always lift you out of the pit, no matter how deep you’ve fallen. He longs to hold you in His arms again and celebrate your return with all of heaven!
Prayer
Father God, thank You for Your love and mercy, which never fails. Take me, mold me and make me Your masterpiece. I desire to follow Your ways. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being.
