DAY 3 OF 3

We started this week by discussing the grandeur of God’s creation: the vast beauty and astounding complexity of the world around us. Yet the same God, who spoke the universe into existence, lovingly and intimately created each individual human being in his image. Our powerful God is also personal; his presence is with us wherever we go. When we acknowledge his presence and remain connected to him, we can live out our unique purpose: to reflect his love and character to the world.

As you read this psalm, pray it back to God. You could start each verse with a phrase like, “God, thank you that….” or “I can trust that…” Think of each verse as being meant for you.

Read: Psalm 139:1-18

Reflection Questions:

  1. Pastor and author Tim Keller says, “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God.” Where do you see evidence in Psalm 139 that God fully knows you and truly loves you?
  2. What is your response to God’s care for you? How does this change the way you think about yourself? What about the way you think about and treat others?

About this Plan

Made for More

The Christian faith offers us an identity that is received as a gift from God, not achieved by our efforts. We don’t have to chase after meaning or compare ourselves to others because we know God created each of us in his image, uniquely and for a purpose. This Bible Plan is part 2 of 8 designed to go along with Feed’s “Foundations” small group series.
