Advent in Exile - Christmas Longing With Isaiah

DAY 28 OF 35

Isaiah 55, 1-13
Do you wonder if God really loves you? Do you doubt if He even knows you exist? Today’s passages are some of the tenderest and well-known expressions of God’s love and faithfulness to usfrom our Heavenly Father. We are given promises of life everlasting and miraculous provision and position in Him; Drink freely and never thirst; eat and be completely satisfied at His table with the finest food! Why? It is His sovereign will to choose, provide and save us. The most profound words in the Holy Bible: “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you can imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” It brings us such unspeakable joy to trust in Him!

Luke 2, 7-20
And on this holiest of days, we meditate and celebrate the coming of Messiah, Emmanuel (God with us), our Redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ. The story we love in Luke 2 is ancient, yet new. For the believer it never gets old; for the seeker it is today’s Good News. Who but God would reach out to humanity in this way? “This is My Son with whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” says God Almighty. Well, this is how the greatest love story in history begins… the virgin gives birth to a Son.

"In Light of this Advent Season, what is your heart longing for?"
