Find Your MissionSample
28,800 days. That's a lifetime on average. A life to fulfill your very personal mission. If this year, this month, this week, or today were your last, what would change? Your time is running, too. If you have the finiteness of your life in mind, you will assign a different value to your lifetime. Your vocation is God's dream for your life. It is his mission for you. You have a mission that only you can fulfill. And you have only a short moment in the timeline of world history. You have only the now.
Many doubt that God can really use them. They do not feel holy enough or think that the mistakes of their past disqualify them. However, it is not crucial for God what has gone wrong so far. God has a mission for everyone. The Bible is full of these stories. Let's take Paul. For years he had persecuted Christians with all severity. Like no other, he tried to destroy the early followers of Jesus. But his past had not stopped God from seeing in him someone with a future. Of all people, he chose him.
Or Moses. As Pharaoh's step-grandson, he had become a murderer in anger. Overnight he had to flee and had seen since then only desert. Until one day, God called him after 40 years out of a burning bush with a new task. And instead of joyfully starting the return journey to Egypt, he tried to find excuses to stay in the desert. Only after God provided him with his brother Aaron was he ready to leave. These and many more stories show one thing: God has a unique mission for everyone. And: God does not only call the able ones. Instead, he empowers those he calls.
