Have you ever felt the anticipation of waiting for someone you love to perform? The crowd's counting down, thirty seconds on the clock, phones are out and ready to get that first photo of the show. Even that thirty-second countdown can feel like an eternity, but everyone's in on it together! Anticipating something good isn't always so exciting.

Waiting has never been easy. It can be uncomfortable, especially when we're on our own! The longer the wait, the more impatient we can become. Throughout the Bible, people waited on God. An entire people group waited for the announcement of the arrival of the Son of God. They spent generations wondering what he'd be like. This passage today reminds us how exciting the wait can be when we know who we're waiting on. It also reminds us that waiting on God brings plenty of learning opportunities.
