The night Peter walked on water, people would begin to learn God is the God who could defy gravity!
How miraculous! Literally. Water is not to be walked on, but Peter changed the game when he wanted to meet Jesus. So many times, we focus on the fact that Peter slipped through the cracks and almost drowned. Jesus' question, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?" wasn't to discourage Peter from never doing that again. Jesus was encouraging Peter. It would be like if Jesus said, "Look how far you've come. Believe in me more next time!"
Jesus always encourages us to trust him to go to the next level. He wants us to do great things and believe that we can defy the odds with God. Too many times, our focus is on worrying if we will fail or not. It can keep us unmotivated to move at all. That night, Peter returned to the boat with evidence that God rescues us when we take a step of faith. And the disciples witnessed it.
Who have you seen God rescue?

About this Plan
It wouldn’t be Christmas without angels! You’ll find them everywhere this Christmas season. They’re on Christmas trees, ornaments, greeting cards, carols, movies, and nativity sets. They’re all over the pages of Scripture, too. That’s because angels played an important role in the very first Christmas. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll discover why angels were and still are so important in the Christmas story.
