There are these videos where parents' "superhero reflex" kicks in, and they're pretty amazing. A baby might be on the edge of a couch, and boom — mom catches them just before falling. Or a toddler on a scooter is headed toward the street, and bam — dad stops them from rolling away.

Close calls aren't just something we experience today. Have you ever heard the story of when Paul was on a ship that would be completely wrecked and didn't lose his life? It's wild! Paul is a prisoner, and he tells everyone around him at the time to be encouraged. So he tells everyone on the ship, "You won't lose your life, but we will lose the ship and land on some island." Um . . . even though we don't know Paul, that would have brought up some mixed emotions. An angel told him that he would get to his destination and survive the journey, and Paul was encouraged enough to comfort the rest of his crew. He got a direct message from an angel and was determined to live to tell the story.
