The War on Wisdom

DAY 34 OF 35

At my age, I have been living on my own as an adult, longer than I lived in my parents’ home. However, the other day when I did something of note, my elderly friend said, “Your parents would be so proud”. And they were. We are all the legacy of our parents. If we do well, our parents are pleased. In Matthew 3:17 we read of a situation where God, as Father, was pleased with Jesus and said so from heaven.

Can you imagine living to please God? God extended an invitation to us to be His children, He wants to be our Father. If we can please our imperfect parents so easily, how much more will we please our Heavenly Father that loves us with an unconditional perfect love, full of grace and mercy. He knows the intentions of our hearts. This means He knows when we tried even though we failed.

Can we focus our efforts there: to please Him and not to keep up with the world, to impress our friends, or to live up to the ridiculous standards the world puts out for us? In faith, we can live a life pleasing to God and hear Father God say about us, “This is my son/daughter in whom I am well pleased!"

About this Plan

The War on Wisdom

We are at War, a war raging since the day that man decided to choose a way other than following the Counsel of God. But God in His grace gave us the strategy we need to be victorious - His Wisdom. The 'War on Wisdom' is a 5-week reading plan through parts of the book of Proverbs. Our purpose is to help the believer reclaim the Wisdom of God.
