What's in a Name: Healer

DAY 4 OF 4

We’ve talked about a lot of different types of healing in this series, how there tends to be a spiritual or emotional healing that goes hand-in-hand with a physical one.

Think about your life. Are there things that leave you longing? Feeling like there’s something missing in your life?

Oftentimes, those are the spots in our hearts that can only be filled with Jesus. For many of us, we don’t realize it. We’re chasing "likes" on social media, followers on TikTok, relationships with anyone who will give us the time of day.

Many times, when we try to fill those holes in our life with things of the world instead of Jesus, we’re left with some pretty significant bruises on our hearts.

Guess what? God wants to heal those bruises and make us whole in Him!

Yes, time and time again we see physical healings performed by Jesus. But the more impressive thing is that He changes the hearts and minds of those who have an encounter with Him.

While we probably won’t be in the same room as Jesus on earth like a lot of these stories in the Bible, Jesus can still offer us the same type of life change!

How? By asking Him! Matthew 7:7-8 says for us to ask Jesus for what we desire. By asking for healing, we’re opening ourselves up for Him to work!

One reminder, sometimes Jesus works in ways we don’t expect. By asking for physical healing, He may answer in a way we don’t understand or expect. While He is always good, He will answer in His perfect way at His perfect time!

So, pray about it! Open your heart to be filled by His goodness. He is a gracious and loving God who wants nothing more than to have a relationship with us and help us see our worth in Him!

About this Plan

What's in a Name: Healer

What’s in a name? It’s what our parents call us, it’s our nickname from our friends, it’s the last name our coach shouts out during practice. Jesus is known by many names as well. Some may be familiar, some may be foreign. In this series we are going to discover why Jesus can be called Healer.
