Unfailing Love

Have you ever babysat or cared for a child and, no matter how many times you told them to go to sleep, they just kept popping back out of bed to ask you for something else? And this was AFTER the kid wouldn’t eat his dinner or pick up his toys! How about the situation where you are caring for a kid who isn’t necessarily choosing to disobey but keeps making wrong choices over and over again. It can be so frustrating (especially when you just want them to go to bed so you can watch a movie, ha ha!!)! Have you ever refused to take a babysitting job because of how naughty the child acted the time before? No way are you dealing with THAT kid again!

God has to watch His people (us) over and over again walk away from Him and make poor choices. It must be so heartbreaking for Him! YET, He continues to show His unfailing love and graciousness to anyone who calls on His name. In verse 7, the psalmist calls out, “Show us Your love and kindness, oh Lord, and grant us Your salvation! “ He talks about the promise of peace from the Father. He wants so much for people to not turn from Him or miss out on true freedom. The last three verses are a stunning picture of the heart of God: His love, His faithfulness, and His righteousness pour from heaven, and we get to receive all of them with great joy! Read them over and over again. He is so good! "Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before Him and prepares the way for His steps."
