Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the PsalmsSample

Prayer Walk
When was the last time you walked around in your community or your neighbourhood and really took the time to look around? Did you see the homes or the buildings and consider the lives impacted by them; the builders and labourers who were able to provide for their families because of the income earned in the construction; the people who now live or work in those buildings; the intricate web of pipes, plumbing, and electrics that stretch out hidden by the ground? Did you notice the landscaping and consider the hands that toiled there, or the time it took for the grass or flowers or garden to grow into what they now are? What circumstances had to transpire for your surroundings to get to where they are? Can you see God in the creation around you? Can you see the image of God in the people you meet in your neighbourhood? Can you see the need, the brokenness in your community that needs God’s love and healing?
GO DEEP: Go for a walk and really look at your surroundings. Try to see things how God might see them. See beyond the buildings and into the lives. Then search yourself. How is God asking you to engage or be His hands in your community?
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
