Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the PsalmsSample
Ponder
Though Psalm 107 begins with the most repeated verse in the Bible, there is no other Psalm similar to 107! It contains four very short stories that tell of troubled people that all “cried to the Lord in their trouble and He saved them from their distress.” The first is a story of wanderers that God places in homes, the second is a story of prisoners where God breaks away their chains, and the third is a story of fools that suffered because of their rebellious ways. The last and longest story was saved for the second half. Let’s see why they cry to God in their trouble…
GO DEEP: Vs 23-32: What is the final story about? How does God save them? Remember - no matter how lost or how foolish or how rebellious we have been, if we cry out to God He will redeem us! Ask God if there is anyone that you will meet today who needs to know that God will hear them if they call to Him.
After a final summary in vs 33-42, the Psalm ends with a profound statement - what is it? What are the character traits of the wise?
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
