Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the PsalmsSample
Wonderful Works
If you love short stories, real short stories, you’ re going to love Psalm 107! If you’re a fan of theory and recognise song arrangements, you’re going to love 107! If you’re a fan of happy endings, then you’re going to love 107! If you’re a fan of our God, you’re going to love Psalm 107! Psalm 107 has four very short stories (with happy endings!), each followed by identical chorus lines, and then a bridge and a conclusion! This Psalm is amazing! Let’s see what we can learn from the first three stories:
GO DEEP: Vs 1: The Psalm kicks off with the most repeated lines of the Bible - “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever!” - and then uses four stories to prove how true it is!
Story 1 - vs 4-9.
Story 2 - vs 10-16.
Story 3 - vs 17-22.
What is each story about? Each story gets to the same response to trouble - what is it? In each of the 3 stories we are told to give thanks to God for His wonderful works! The only difference in each story is that God's wonderful works are not the same - what different works does God perform in the three stories? There is no situation or story where we can’t cry to the Lord and He will hear us and do wonderful works!
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
