Pastor How to Read Luke

DAY 16 OF 30

(Finally we are in chapter 2.)

Please read the Gospel of Luke 2:1-5.

Joseph and the heavily pregnant Mary traveled from Nazareth to Bethlehem. While it was Caesar who ordered it, God engineered it so that divine prophecy could be fulfilled.

When I read the Bible, I try to put myself in the shoes of the characters (literally). So I used my Google Maps and I realized that Nazareth to Bethlehem is about 150km.

Imagine walking across Singapore 3 times while heavily pregnant.

Lesson: In order for divine dreams to be birthed, we need to walk the extra, extra mile.

Just because an angel appeared and miracles happened, didn't mean that Mary need not walk the extra mile. Many Christians have the misconception that just because they have a divine mandate and heavenly endorsement, they don’t have to go through the grind of the human journey.

So my friends, if you want your dreams to come to pass, keep walking the extra mile.

Remember – There are no traffic jams on the extra mile.

Other people’s last mile is your first extra mile.

And make sure you walk those extra miles with a smile!! 😀😆😃

(PS: A shoutout to all resilient female leaders and church staff. Many of you were/are heavily pregnant but still continue serving, building and loving others. You don’t see your pregnancy and baby as a burden but a blessing. You have our highest respect.)
