DAY 2 OF 4

Imagine the creation of the universe at the beginning of time- do you picture Jesus being there too? Well, the Bible tells us that all things were made THROUGH Jesus, meaning he was not only there at the beginning of time, but nothing would be created if it wasn't for him.

Now when we follow Jesus, we become "new creations", so does that mean we aren't God's workmanship until we follow him? Nope!

We have always been God’s creations through Jesus, but when sin entered the world, it caused a disconnect between humanity and God. Humanity lost sight of who God created us to be and we’ve tried to make sense of our existence on our own. But when Jesus lived, died and rose again for us, he closed that gap between us and God, meaning we can live personal and purposeful lives as “new creations” in Christ. As we follow Jesus, we become more and more like him, and we are able to thrive more as who God created us to be. We may look the same, but our hearts and minds are being transformed as we are ‘recreated’ through Christ.

Think of it this way- Imagine using a pencil and thinking you were supposed to write with the rubber for your whole life. Then one day, you realise you've had it all wrong and you start to use that pencil the way that it was designed to be used. It's the same pencil but now it's geared up to thrive and to fulfill its purpose, and that's what it's like when we follow Jesus and live as ‘new creations’. We are able to live in a new way, the way that we were created to live, through Jesus.

Prayer: Jesus, I thank you because even before I knew who you were, you loved me and gave everything up for me so that I can live a thriving life. Jesus, help me to follow you each day and transform me to be more like you in Jesus’ name.

Q: What are the areas that you believe God is still transforming in your life?

Q: How do you think your life would change if you walked in the truth of being a new creation?
