Through the Bible: Ezekiel

DAY 15 OF 17

God of Details

Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
Ezekiel 43:5 (ESV)

God revealed a temple along with its detailed measurements in a dream given to Ezekiel though he was not required to build it. So what is God telling us through these chapters?

God has plans for our lives. The New Testament says our bodies are the temple of the living God. We need to have faith that God has planned our lives in detail. He will reveal it to us - those details we need to know, and others that will happen at the right time.

The vital aspect is that God's Glory fills the temple. Just as Ezekiel witnessed God's glory fill the temple in his dream, those around us will see the Glory of God in our lives. For that to happen, we decrease, and God increases in our life. Today, may we allow God's Glory to overshadow our lives.

Prayer

Dear Lord, fill us with Your glory, may we decrease and You increase in our lives so that people around us witness Your presence in us, in Jesus name, Amen.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Ezekiel

By the river Chebar, Ezekiel prophesied both judgement and hope to the exiles of Judah, who were just removed from the Promised Land. Although the people cried out, “Our bones are dried up and our hope is lost,” Ezekiel reassured them that God would always provide a way to restore His people. Punishment is grueling, but sometimes it is meant to bring us back to repentance and humility before God.
