eKidz Devotional: All About Faith

DAY 4 OF 5

Active Faith

When we put our faith in Jesus, we become His follower — and to follow something takes action. It takes movement.

But what does it look like to put our faith into action? Well, let’s talk about Andrew, the brother of Peter.

You’ve probably heard about Peter before (one of Jesus’ most famous disciples), but did you know it was Andrew who introduced Peter to Jesus?

Andrew had heard John the Baptist preach — John told him about Jesus. Andrew wanted to know more, so he decided to spend the day with Jesus to get to know Him better.

The Bible tells us the first thing Andrew did after spending the day with Jesus was to find his brother Peter and tell him.

Andrew could have remained silent about his encounter with Jesus, but he didn’t. He took action and told his brother what had happened, and both of them became followers of Jesus.

Active faith is meant to be put into motion and shared with others.

Ask yourself: Who is someone you know who has put their faith into action? How can you put your faith into action this week?

Challenge yourself: When you believe God is in control, you put your faith into action. This week, look for opportunities to share your faith with others.

Pray: God, thank You for helping me put my faith into action. Please help me look for opportunities to help those around me and share Your love and kindness with them. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan

eKidz Devotional: All About Faith

Faith is more than knowing God exists and memorizing scripture. It’s a strong belief or trust that’s sturdy and firm, and it doesn’t wear out or break down. In this five-day devotional, we will learn faith grows as we grow, and it’s long-lasting. We’ll explore Bible stories and listen to the eKidz family podcast, “Adventures Of The StarKeepers,” to help us apply these lessons to our lives.
