Break TrailSample
If you ever get the chance to watch a professional football game on TV, chances are you’ll see someone in the stands holding up a John 3:16 sign. It’s one of the oddest, yet coolest things you’ll see. There, in the middle of thousands of screaming fans swearing at the kicker to miss and lose the game, there stands someone holding a piece of cardboard referencing the most famous verse in the Bible.
It’s in today’s verse where we’re reminded of just how much God loves the world. Yes, all the world, even the mean people . . . even us. When Jesus began teaching people about God, one of the first things he wanted to do was to tell them God was very loving. He didn’t just tell them God loved the world, but he began to define how much he loved us. God loved us so much, God gave Jesus to make us whole. Because God loves us, we can choose to receive eternal life.
What would it look like to live that eternal and full life starting now?

About this Plan
If you're a hiker, you know a trail-breaker is someone who walks ahead, makes a new way, and invites others to follow. That's exactly what Jesus did for us. He broke a new trail with his birth, his life, his teachings, and then with his death and resurrection. In this 30-day devotional series designed for Lent, we’ll see how Jesus showed us a new way of living and knowing God.
