Break TrailSample
Watching someone we love pass away can be a really difficult experience. Part of us is filled with a ton of loss and heartbreak. We know life won't be the same without them in our lives, but we also know we have to go on without them. Death, in many ways, feels so final. When Jesus died on Good Friday, all of his friends and family thought everything was over, like their world had come to an end. It wasn't just the personal aspect of his death that was hard for them, but there was an entire spiritual side as well.
They placed their eternal hopes in him, and now he was gone. Or was he? On Easter morning, Jesus rose from the dead! Throughout the New Testament, the writers of each book and letter now remind us that because Jesus has risen, he has power over death. What does that mean for us? It means that when we place our faith in him, we will be with him forever. And guess what? Forever starts now. With Jesus, death is not the end, just the next step in our story.
Which feelings come up for you when considering the resurrection of Jesus?

About this Plan
If you're a hiker, you know a trail-breaker is someone who walks ahead, makes a new way, and invites others to follow. That's exactly what Jesus did for us. He broke a new trail with his birth, his life, his teachings, and then with his death and resurrection. In this 30-day devotional series designed for Lent, we’ll see how Jesus showed us a new way of living and knowing God.
