Budgets are not battle weapons we form for attacking our spouse. Setting budgets are mature conversations that reflect your values, goals, needs, and dreams. Of course, conversations that never take place do nobody any good. Left in silent speculation, each spouse will come to question each other’s intentions.

Money is one of the top three reasons couples fight and divorce. It’s usually during the divorce process that they finally begin to consider the role of money. That’s because both are watching money march into their attorneys’ pockets.

Let’s not do that anymore. It would be such a wonderful accomplishment if we could put divorce attorneys out of business. Don’t worry about them, they’ll find another way to scrape by!

Setting a household budget is vital to the holistic health of your marriage. The stress caused by money is usually a result of failing to control your money. Trust us, if you do not control your cash, your cash will control you.

Also, most police couples who find themselves at odds over finances do not have a shortage of income. They have undisciplined spending habits. It took discipline to get through your academy training to protect others. Now, use that discipline to protect your marriage and finances.
