Fervent: Fight Fear With Faith Sample

What are you afraid of?  What if you get COVID-19?  What if someone in your family gets it?  What if the lockdown lasts forever?  What if you can’t get food or other essentials? What if your children never receive a proper face-to-face education?  What if you’re going to be alone forever? Sometimes it helps to play out those fears.  For instance, if we did get the coronavirus, then what? We go to the hospital…we recover or…we go to heaven! God always gets us through somehow.  He meets us where we are and casts out the fear—if we let Him—with perfect love. So today, let’s admit our fears honestly to God. He will not condemn us for having those fears. Rather, like a loving Father, He will draw us close and listen to us. And His love for us calms our fears. So let us come to Him as His beloved children and let His love enfold us.

Pray that:

• We will come to God as simply and honestly as a child.

• We will submit our fears to Him.

• God’s love will cast out all our fears.
