Fervent: Fight Fear With Faith Sample

Uncertainty and fear have been the hallmarks of this entire pandemic. Yet, despite what we see and hear, the Word of God gives us a different perspective. First, it reminds us of what is certain—the “sure foundation” of our times—Yahweh. He is the same unchanging God, yesterday, today, and forever. And in these uncertain times, He remains absolutely rock solid! He will not disappear on us. He will not abandon us. He loved us before. He loves us still. And He will love us throughout eternity. Second, it reminds us of the only kind of fear that is acceptable – the fear of the Lord. And the reason we should seek to cultivate this specific fear is that it is the “key” that unlocks all of God’s treasures of “salvation and wisdom and knowledge”. He is our stability in the midst of this storm. Let us hold on to Him and fear Him above all else. He will provide all the wisdom and knowledge we need to thrive in this situation.

• The assurance of God’s unchanging nature to strengthen us.

• The fear of the Lord to fill us, removing all other fears and worries.

• God to be our sure foundation now and always in all areas of our lives.
