Walking With Jesus Sample
I AM The Great I AM
The disciples and those there to arrest Jesus had to have been perplexed when Jesus asked the same question two times..
“Who are you looking for? I am He… Who is it you want? I am he.”
It's interesting that when Jesus answered them the first time they drew back and fell to the ground. They had to be overcome by Jesus' power and authority.
In Exodus 3:14 God told Moses, ““I Am Who I Am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘ I Am has sent me to you.'" I AM is a name describing the eternal power and unchanging character of God. In a world where values, morals and laws change constantly, we can find stability and security in our unchanging I AM.
To the disciples, Jesus was simply standing up to protect them and let them go unharmed. Little did they know that the I AM was in complete control.
Today’s Scripture: John 18:4-9
Pray: Ask God to reveal to you His truths as you read His Word. Don’t skip this important step.
Read: As you read ask the “5 W’s and an H” questions: Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?
Daily Challenge: Find some quiet time today and listen to the song “The Great I Am” and let God speak to you today. Who is the Great I Am to you? Write those down and praise who He is to you.
