River Valley Church New Testament Soap Sprint Sample

River Valley Church New Testament Soap Sprint

DAY 16 OF 29

The narrative in Acts has shifted to focus on Paul and his ongoing struggle with the Jewish religious leaders from Jerusalem and other synagogues he encounters in his travels. Paul is taken into Roman custody after being falsely accused by the chief priests of heresy and disorderly conduct, and remains a political prisoner throughout the remainder of this account. God sovereignly intervenes to preserve his life throughout a myriad of intense troubles, including multiple plots of murder, violent mobs stirred up by the chief priests, a tempest at sea, a shipwreck, and a venomous snake bite. In all of this, Paul remains convinced that God is sustaining him to endure this intense hardship and stay in Roman captivity because God has called him to preach the good news before a variety of Roman political authorities, even up to the emperor himself in Rome.
