This part of Corinthians addresses the format of church gatherings among the believers in Corinth. Many are disorderly, with people interrupting and talking over one another in a way that confuses and obscures any Scriptural teaching or encouraging word. Paul uses the metaphor of a body to display how we all have different gifts and need to use them to build the church, not for our own desires or power-posturing. He also says that all of the believers' gatherings and relationships need to be centered on love.
