Bible Explorer for the Young (Psalm - Part 1)Sample
Hey, Listen!
Psalm 34:12
You must not say evil things. You must not tell lies.
King David wrote and reminded the children to come and listen to him as he wanted to share about the ways of living according to God's way.
When a teacher tells the children in the classroom: “Hey, be quiet and listen to me,” it means all the students need to be quiet and have their eyes fixed on him before he can start teaching. When the students are quiet and attentive to the teacher, then they can understand and comprehend the teaching.
This is what God wants from you and me. We have to stop talking, take a moment off from your busyness and be quiet before He can start talking to you. Only by this way you can start listening to Him and obeying His Words. We need to listen to God and be ready to obey Him.
One of the ways to obey God is by controlling your tongue. Do not tell lies and do not say bad and hurtful words. May only the positive and peaceful words come out from your mouth.
Prayer
Dear God, my eyes are fixed on You, and my ears listen to You. Help me to always choose the right and peaceful words when I talk. Amen.
