Isaiah speaks to the people of Judah before they were about to be taken into exile by the Babylonians. This would not be a good time for them. Actually, it would be really, really hard.
But, during this really hard time, Isaiah gives the people hope.
He tells them that the time of darkness they were about to face wouldn’t last forever. There would come a day when they wouldn’t live in exile and when other countries wouldn’t rule over them.
One would come who would be the ultimate ruler. He would establish a kingdom that would never end and bring peace to his people.
Isaiah was referring to Jesus. Jesus would be the one to come and rescue everyone from sin, death, and destruction. Jesus brings peace and hope even in difficult times.
Question: How do you find hope when you are going through a difficult time?

About this Plan
About this plan: Christmas is a big deal. It’s the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus. If we aren’t careful, Christmas becomes just another holiday, and we miss the significance of it. In this series, we look forward to Christmas by looking at the story of the Bible to remind us why Christmas matters.
