What Can You Do?Sample

Has someone ever done something for you, and it made your entire attitude better? Maybe you were having a really bad day until a friend offered to help you study for a test or offered you her cookies at lunch. When we serve, we have the opportunity to do something really important for others. Serving someone else can make that person’s whole day better. 

When we serve someone, we also have the opportunity to introduce them to Jesus - that’s something that can change a person’s entire life! Jesus told us to serve others and to do good deeds that will point others to Him. Serving is simply doing something for someone else for their benefit. Serving can look like a variety of things - like helping someone make dinner, washing the dishes at home even if it isn’t your turn, or helping a friend with their homework. The possibilities are endless!! When someone asks why we are serving them, it’s the perfect opportunity to tell them the reason we are serving is because of how Jesus has impacted our lives- and we want to impact others, too! 

Challenge: Today, we challenge you to find an opportunity to serve someone else and give all the praise to God. If the person you serve thanks you or asks why you serve, take that opportunity to tell them about Jesus or even invite them with you to church! Shine your light by serving others today.
