Christmas Begins with ChristSample
The opening verses of Isaiah 9 symbolically speak of the future promise of the Messiah as the Light of the World. Isaiah uses the everyday occurrence of the sunrise and reminds the people of Israel, and us, that the Light that he speaks about has the transforming power to bring hope and life. We know that Jesus fulfils this prophecy as he begins preaching the good news of God's grace (Matthew 4:12-17)
Consider what situations across the world that are in need of Gods transforming power of light and hope to shine.
During this lead up to the Advent season, pray that we may bring Jesus' message of hope to our friends and neighbours, to poor and needy people. Let us pray that God would open up the hearts of everyone at Christmas, as we bring our focus back to Jesus.
