40 Days of Faith

DAY 40 OF 40

Today’s Reading: 1 John 5:1–5, 13–15

Faith Confession

I have been born of God and have overcome the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world—my faith. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and in his name I have eternal life. This is my confidence, that if I ask anything according to your will, you hear me, and I know that I have the requests that I have asked of you (1 John 5:1–5, 13–15). Thanks be to God! You give me the victory through my Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).

You’ve completed the 40 Days of Faith devotional, but God’s work in you is just beginning! He has built faith within you great enough to withstand temptations, fear, loss, shame, sickness, and danger, all so you can know his power and love to take you to the next level of your spiritual walk. In times of trial or joy, you can return to these passages and confessions as a reminder of God’s promises for your life. Remember that nothing “in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39).

With prayer, your local church community, and the leading of the Holy Spirit, the faith you have will propel you to see God’s plan for your life come to pass. Even as you read the Bible on your own, begin to see the underlying principles that he has written for you. May you be encouraged and strengthened in your faith.
