There's Hope For Today

DAY 80 OF 366

A prominent sociologist said, “There is nothing quite so entertaining as listening to a brilliant mind expound on a stupid idea.”

Of such is the tortured logic of the atheist arguing for a random, godless universe. The intricacies of creation demand design. Not so, says a scientific community committed to a natural universe. In 1927, A.P. Eddington offered the monkey thesis to support the assumption that infinite time and chance could account for life. He held that, “Given time, an army of monkeys strumming on typewriters might write all the books in the English library.” Imagine that you are the monkeys’ supervisor reading the daily monkey transcripts. Every once in a while, a two- or three-letter word appears, or even a three-word phrase. Then one day, you pick up a transcript and begin to read, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times …”

What has happened – a perfect combination of chance and time? To believe so one would have to believe that a tornado in a junkyard could create a functioning jet liner. The Word of God reveals the truth concerning origin, meaning, morality, and destiny.

Without God’s Word as a foundation, the rest is just a bunch of monkey business.
