There's Hope For TodaySample

Want to test a friendship? Tell your friend that he needs to humble himself. Chances are, he won’t perceive it as a positive development in the relationship (this gives light to the shallow nature of most relationships). Humility is a character trait that we honor, respect, and revere ... in other people!
Humbling oneself is generally cast in negative light, as though humility were punitive in nature. Humility finds its antithesis in pride. Pride is the natural, boastful prerogative of our fallen nature. Humility is the healthy offspring of repentance and discipline. Pride carries a false sense of grasping and achieving. Humility carries the sense of releasing, even losing. Pride is all about ascending. Humility is all about descending. Pride is about rights and status. Humility is about surrender and servanthood. Pride is widely regarded as necessary for success. Humility is the spiritual basis of greatness. Pride precedes every great fall. Humility precedes every great deed.
Proud men stop praying. Humble men stop sinning. Proud men admit no wrong. Humble men receive great grace.
The good news is that we can humble ourselves. The bad news is that most men won’t.
