There's Hope For Today

DAY 247 OF 366

Larry works as a research chemist for a manufacturer of non-woven fabrics. His college degree is in Forestry.

Tim’s master’s degree in English Literature doesn’t seem to fit his role as a heavy equipment mechanic. Bill earned two business degrees, and then chose the Christian ministry. Harry Truman left retail for politics. Radio commentator Dr. Laura Schlessinger counsels the masses, but her Ph.D. is in physiology, not psychology. Starting points and milestones are not faithful indicators of where a life might end.

We live in the age and land of great opportunity. We serve a God who made a Shepherd into a King; a Persecutor into a Missionary; a Fisherman into an Apostle. Have you looked lately at where your life is leading? Are you stuck in a rut that leads down the wrong road? Does your future look dull, mediocre, or pointless? God’s way leads us to purpose and fulfillment. Maybe it’s time for a jailbreak?

Take the class, start that exercise program, withdraw from toxic friends, invigorate your prayer life, re-evaluate your goals, re-focus your energies, renew your marriage, resign from “deadwood” activities, do something selfless. Refuse to let a boring life run its course.
