There's Hope For TodaySample
I started to notice a change in Ted.
At first, I thought he was just having a good run of circumstances. He had always been a melancholy sort of guy, not morose by any stretch, but much given to worry and weariness. He wouldn’t have made my top ten happy people list ... he wouldn’t have made my top fifty! When circumstances got a little rocky, I would expect to see the old Ted again. But something was changing here. This morning he walked past my table at Starbucks and I couldn’t help myself – I had to ask. He was “breezing” through the place with his head held high and his Bible tucked under his arm. “What has happened to you?” I asked. His eyes were dancing, and he answered, “Remember when we met about eight months ago and you encouraged me to get my prayer life in order? That’s what I’ve done. I never miss my morning devotions and prayer.”
That was it! That was all! Ted didn’t look like the same guy I had come to know over the years. He was wearing his prayers. He was clothed in the confidence that comes from a great relationship with the Lord.
What are you clothing yourself in today? Wear your prayer!
