There's Hope For TodaySample
TASBARRAYA, HONDURAS: Not everyone who receives a copy of the Book of Hope recognizes the value of the Word of God.
One child who received the book in a Honduran school tore it apart, leaving a few pages scattered on the side of the road. A fisherman named Comino walked by and picked up one or two of the torn pages. What he read touched his heart. The Holy Spirit must have been preparing him, for in that moment, with only a page or two of God’s Word in his hands, Comino asked Jesus to come into his heart. He has since joined the village church. In his wallet he keeps those folded scraps as a reminder of God’s goodness.
In times past, God delivered food to a prophet by way of ravens; caused flood waters to cover all of the earth; made water turn into the finest wine, and sent angels to open prison doors. Is there any question that this same God could direct the flight of paper scraps to the feet of a village fisherman that he might read the Word of God and believe?
Comino found eternal treasure in the scraps that a careless child discarded. His story reveals a God who goes to extreme measures to get His Word to lost people. How far will we go?
