There's Hope For Today

DAY 166 OF 366

When the neuro-pathways of the brain shut down, confusion marks the onset of dementia. At first, a person can look so healthy, so strong – but soon this cruel disease begins to leave its mark. When vital thought-connections are broken, the body suffers accelerated decline. With frightful speed, vitality is replaced by vacancy.

The body of Christ suffers in the same manner when vital connections are broken. When respect is drained away; when trust is trampled; when the wagons are circled, the resilient glow of fellowship is lost to a stone-cold indifference.

Paul clearly states that we are all different; we are supposed to be different; our glory and giftings shine through our differences. But rather than withdraw in the face of our diversity, we must all become keepers of the pathways; men and women who connect. The more “connectors” a church has, the more healthy her fellowship. If we were to suddenly pull the “connectors” from churches, the doors would swing shut from coast to coast.

Are you a “connector?” Do you draw people together, or push them apart? Keep connecting! Establish and maintain vital pathways to insure unity in diversity. Ignore connectivity and spiritual dementia is sure to follow.
