There's Hope For TodaySample
Adam got a second chance, as did Eve. Jonah got a second chance; so did Peter. David got a second chance, as did Elijah, John-Mark, and Onesimus. The children of Israel were given repeated chances.
Mary Magdalene lived a terrible life. She got a second chance. Zacchaeus was a notorious cheat, and he was given a second chance. How about the brothers of Joseph? Those evil sons of Jacob should have been hung in Egypt, but they were given a second chance. Through Noah, a whole world was given a second chance.
The truth is, we need a second chance, because we are all sinners. We all fall short of the mark. We all walk outside the lines. From the mighty to the small, we’re cut from the same cloth; sons of Adam; all “bent” toward sin. Yet God forgives, restores, and renews when we repent. The patience of God stretches beyond our horizons.
By my sense of justice, He should have closed the books on the human experiment long ago. The key to God’s patience is His love. He never forgets that we are children. He is the Perfect Parent, exercising restraint born of love. He knows that we will fail. He expects that we will stumble, but He also expects that in the process, His children will grow.
