There's Hope For Today

DAY 127 OF 366

PORTEVIEJO, ECUADOR: The city struggled amidst economic meltdown. Inflation topped 100% per month! All foundations were shaking. Local school teachers went out on strike as a OneHope team touches down to distribute the Book of Hope to school children.

It would seem, to the outside observer, the most inopportune time to carry out a distribution. But God isn’t limited by calamity. He sees and moves with a perfect understanding. He capitalizes on confusion that His glory might be seen. The repeated teachers’ strikes have caused many parents to enroll their children in private schools. Since the public schools are closed, the teams concentrate on private schools that are bursting at the seams. Results: 11,000 children receive copies of the Book of Hope. A local film crew is interviewing university professors for commentary on the strike. They notice that American volunteers are distributing a book to the university students. Results: A local pastor is interviewed prime time about the Book of Hope and doors open all over the city.

God doesn’t need our scripted plans and five-step wonders. He is forever the God who calls cosmos out of chaos.
