There's Hope For TodaySample
There’s a serial killer loose on the road to completion. He has littered the roadside with dead dreams, shattered visions, and broken trust. His common appearance enables him to approach without notice, and just when some traveler begins to see the light of hope, he strikes a blow to the heart. He leaves mourning and bitterness in his wake. If the victim yet lives, he’s been known to return to the scene of the crime to strike a deathblow.
His name is Disappointment and most of us have felt his dark and bitter touch at one time or another. Disappointment usually hangs out with Loneliness and Hopelessness; two killers of equal distinction. You had better watch out for this dark trio. They have killed before, and they will kill again. They hide along the shadowy corridors of pride. They slip, unnoticed, among unreasonable expectations. They’re waiting for that moment of darkness; that moment the complacent traveler looks away from the light. The dagger is sharpened; the moment well chosen; dark clouds gather, and Disappointment strikes at the soul.
Stay on the “ancient paths.” There is safety in walking close to the Lord. Keep your eyes on Jesus and deprive the killer of every opportunity.
