Fear Busters (Week 2)Sample
Day 4 - God is my shield
READ:
“The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Saviour. My God is my rock. I can run to Him for safety. He is my shield and my saving strength, my high tower.” (Psalm 18:2 ICB).
We are looking at the promises of God, so far, we have learnt that God is our rock and our safety. This means God is strong and unchanging and that He is our safety, we can trust God!
Today we are learning that God is my shield. This means that God helps us to think of good things, not scary things. We have been given the armour of God. One of the items of the Armour of God is the Shield of Faith - can you think of the other pieces of armour?
God gives us a shield of faith to protect us! The shield of faith helps us to be brave when we have fears, doubts and wobbles. When we pick up our shield of faith, we are choosing to believe that we don’t have to do this on our own and that we believe that God is with us.
So next time you’re worried about something, try to think about something good and happy and remember that God is always with you!
ASK:
Where can you use your shield of faith today?
Spend some time writing down some of things that may make you worried or scared and then use your shield of faith to help you. Maybe you can make a shield then ask your grown up to send us a photo of you using it to @freedomkidsglobal Instagram or Facebook.
REMEMBER:
“The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Saviour. My God is my rock. I can run to Him for safety. He is my shield and my saving strength, my high tower.” (Psalm 18:2 ICB).
FEARBUSTER PRAYER:
You are bigger than my fears, You wipe away my tears. I have a voice to pray, You teach me what to say. I am brave because of You! This sickness just won’t do. We tell it now to quit, we've had enough of it!

About this Plan
Welcome to Fear Busters! In this devotional series, we'll be looking at how to overcome fear through Jesus. When we’re surrounded by illness and uncertainty Jesus tells us to keep our eyes fixed on Him! This week we’re learning that God is our protector, reading about Noah and through our memory verse in Psalm 18:2!
